Criss Angel - Mindfreak

Freak your mind. Freak your friends' minds. My role on this project was to develop the names engine and video splicing application in PHP/MySQL. Behind the scenes lives a CMS for entering hundreds of alternate name spellings, a script for extracting/storing relevant metadata and the FLV splicing script. The system has successfully served up several hundred thousand custom videos in its first two weeks, so we're beaming proud.

Big League Chew

As if uploading your face to a cult member wasn't enough! Now you can upload your face to a baseball card, too. I chewed Big League Chew as a kid, and it was heaven.

adidas Football

Thrill or Destroy? I had a lot of fun with the audio effects and a few room shaking speaker mishaps. This was an early rendition of the shoe flip that since has evolved to 360 degrees x 2 angles with physics defying technicolor spins.

adidas - KG 3

I made use of the Sequence class for the first time when I added the Garnett shoe screen to the adidas - KG 3 website. That corkscrew motion is a single Sequence dynamically built around the shoe inventory. Navigating (from the programming perspective) is as simple as playing and rewinding the Sequence. Since the row of shoes loop around from front to back of the line, there is some odd depth sorting taking place.

Cartoon Network - Ed, Edd & Eddy

Thanks to some slick character animation by Big Time Attic, Lunchroom Rumble puts you in the cartoon with a full lunch tray in hand. I developed the shell, user interactivity and tile engine, which supports rectangular tiles of any size, including moveable tiles, consumable tiles, projectile tiles and up to 10 characters simultaneously scurrying about. Donn Ha scripted the pathfinding and AI, so thank him for that pie in your face.

Bauer Nike Hockey

Under the direction of Olson + Company, I developed a large portion of the Flash frontend for the Bauer Nike Hockey website. My contributions include scripting a number of custom UI components and tween managing classes for choreographing motion. Recently, we developed a goal customizer screen so goalies can customize, save and order their equipment online. I developed a color effects class that tweens the colors and textures of the equipment. On the technical side, the application parses a list of Bauer's style rules and prints a form that ships straight to the manufacturer.

Text Editor

I developed this WYSIWYG Flash text editor as an experimental project when I was unable to find an open source tool that matched my needs. As far as I can tell, this component handles all text formatting supported by Flash 7. In the background, the text editor creates a Flash HTML string of the content generated by the user. The component is awaiting insertion in the content management tool of a lucky client.

Champions of Charm

At Olson + Company I developed the frontend Flash for the Champions of Charm e-card. I also tag-teamed on design and painted a number of clay models. The application loads all images dynamically, and the user can rotate and resize pieces "Illustrator style." The site was listed in K10K.

Champions of Cheer

For each e-card sent through Champions of Charm, Olson + Company donated money to a local food shelf. We molded and painted the clay pieces over pizza and holiday carols. The project made the front cover of Communication Arts' Design Interact. It also made Linkdup and K10K.
